Walgreens has been putting up the new displays faster than CVS or Rite Aid. I saw these displays today. Maybelline has quite a few new items.

I only bought a few items at CVS this week. The turnover with new collections in the beauty section is very slow at my CVS. I still managed to find a few things that I wanted. My total came to $45.67 and with mfc's, store coupons and store rewards I ended up paying .67 cents. I will actually be doing posts on everything I purchased in the future. I bought a purple and silver Sally Hansen Satin Glam polishes ($5.99), a 'Nude Wear' blusher by Physicians Formula ($9.99) and a limited edition Maybelline EyeStudio eyeshadow quad . ($9.99).
I'm a little behind on my weekend posts. This is from my last CVS haul. I like the brand new CVS that opened near me in Oct but they seem to never change their cosmetic displays. They still have holiday collections and Hunger Games Cover Girl Displays taking up huge sections. Each Sunday my CVS sets out a table with 75% off merchandise. With mfc's, I got the Revlon blush, L'Oreal Infalliable concealer and L'Oreal Voluminous mascara for $2.50
I purchased a Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush (I love how they feel and how easy they blend), an Organic Physicians Formula Mascara, and a Physicians Formula Plump Potion lipgloss. I bought a Sally Hansen Satin Glam pink polish. I also have a blue and white Satin Glam polish and I really like the "satin" finish of the polishes. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a solid color with a little extra touch. I bought a few other things and paid $16 for $85 worth of merchandise. I received $32 in Extra Bucks. My trip was really free plus I got $16 towards my next trip. At Rite Aid I saw a few new cosmetic displays including some new brands. Piggy Polish is now at Rite Aid. I have only seen these at Ulta. Each bottle comes with a cute toe ring. This is the new packaging for the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips. I saw the not yet fully stocked 'Rio Rush' displays by Revlon at 2 Rite Aids. I purchased both new eyeshadow colors. At Rite Aid there is a new L.A. Girl display with 'Feathered' polish. On the right is a close up. It looks like white and colored matte bar glitter. ($2.99)
I have been feeling lousy and sleeping a lot over the past few days. I had to go shopping today for my budget buys. You know I'm sick when I don't shop first thing Sunday morning. I went to CVS today and found some pretty good deals. My final price after using coupons and store rewards was .62 cents.
There were some new displays at Walgreens and Harmon. It looks like there are some new Sinful Shine spring colors out. These were in a random display among the Easter Items. Sinful Shine Polishes are usually $2.99. At Harmon's there was a new Sally Hansen Display for Xtreme Wear nail polishes. They are glitter polishes. I bought a few of them and will do another post on them soon. They were $2.69. This is the new Revlon Collection based on the new Spider-Man Movie. It looks like there are some repromotes along with some new glosses and polishes.
I decided to review my massive Triple Shine Haul that I got over 5 days. I took advantage of sales and coupons to get amazing deals. With all the polishes I bought I spent about $15 for $75 dollars worth of polish. Plus I got a $5 Up reward from Rite Aid from this weeks sale.
Overall I'm very pleased with the Sally Hansen Triple Shine Collection. I don't really notice a "Triple Shine" but the colors definitely have gloss. The clear top coat adds a little more shine to the polish. There is a wide range of colors, finishes and glitter polishes. I love collections that have a little bit of everything. They have pastels, bold colors and a lot of different colors of glitter polish.
My favorites from the collection were hard to narrow down. I tried to cut it down as much as possible. Picking favorite polishes is not easy for me. I feel like I'm hurting the other polishes feelings by not picking them. Ha Ha. My favorites out of the Triple Shine collection are: "Vanity Flare" (Medium Purple), Sparks Fly (Cornflower/silver glitter), Reef Rar (A pink salmon cream), "Twinkled Pink" Iridescent pink glitter polish, and "Bait me" pearl grey. For $4.99 it's not a bad price for a good nail polish. The bottles are cute, they have a wide variety of colors and they all have pretty quick drying time. Plus, there are always sales on Sally Hansen, especially at Rite Aid. Note: Rite Aid frequently has Sally Hansen polishes on sale. The last sale they had was 40% off Sally Hansen, so it brought the Triple Shine polishes down to $2.99. This week they had BOGO 50% and if you bought $10 worth, you got $5 UP rewards to use on your next purchase. I bought 4 polishe I hit the Essie clearance jackpot at my local Rite Aid. There are 4 or 5 clearance baskets on a bottom shelf that have had the same stuff in there for EVER. Today I took a routine glance at the clearance and noticed a new basket of stuff. 2 Essie polishes jumped out at me right away: 'The girls are out' and 'For the Twill of it'. When I saw the $2.12 price tag I couldn't put them in my basket quick enough.
'The girls are out' is a deep magenta with subtle glitter when you look close at it. 'For the Twill of it is a pink and green shifting duochrome. The duochrome is more evident in the bottle than other nail. On the nail it looks like a slate grey with a slight pink and green shimmer. They are both pretty colors. At Rite Aid, Sally Hansen products are 40% off. I finally picked up one of the Satin Glam polishes. I chose a white color called 'Crystalline' because I read some good reviews of it on the Internet. I'm glad I listened to what I read. It is a beautiful, shimmery, delicate color. It is a pearlized white with iridescent glitter in colors like pink and green. It really is a different color, unlike any I have. ($3.49) Finally they had the Maybelline limited edition colored Great Lash mascaras in clearance for $1.37!!!!!! I have the mascara in berry and teal. I picked up the mascara in purple. I like the Maybelline colored mascaras because they are deep enough to give a classy hint of color to the lashes and don't make you look like you are ready to go trick or treating. I used a $1 off Maybelline mascara coupon so I paid less than .40 for one! I am definitely going back to that Rite Aid when I have a chance. I want to take my time looking through the clearance bins and hopefully pick up some more $2 Essie polishes. Stores like Rite Aid are starting to get in their spring collections so they are getting rid of a lot of seasonal collection items at dirt cheap prices. Keep an eye out! I did some shopping on my day off (What a suprise!). I did find some newly marked clearance Physician Formula items at Rite Aid. For $5 I got $42 dollars worth of Physicians Formula. I got the new CC Correcting powder with color correcting and anti aging pigments, PHmatchmaking Powdered Blush and Cashmere Wear Ultra Smoothing Bronzer. I used coupons, my 20% discount, UP Rewards and clearance prices to bring my price down to $5. Plus I received $10 Up Rewards. Besides the Physicians Formula I mainly picked up clearance items. The new Revlon wrinkle filling gel was the only other thing I bought full price. ($13.99. After coupons and extra bucks I paid less than $6) I picked up only 2 nail polishes. A lovely teal called ' Key West' by Milan for 50% off ($2.99) and a Sally Hansen Super Lustrous nail color in Firefly for 75% off ($1.99) For 50% off I bought a Wet n Wild Mega shield lip color in Peachy Keen. I tried it on and it is a very flattering color on me. I will definitely keep my eye open for another one. ($1.49) I love the packaging and design of Physicians Formula cosmetics. I bought a Cashmere Bronzer for 75% off ($3.45) and a PH Balancing Blush for $75% off ($3.45).
I stopped at CVS and Rite Aid to check out any new displays and dwindling clearance deals. The cosmetics to the right were my $5 haul from CVS. With coupons and clearance my total came to around $10 and I received $5 extra bucks. The cosmetics to the left were from Rite Aid and they include my free Almay eye shadows. If you want to pick up any of these clearance deals I would head to the stores this week. They are moving old stuff out fast to make way for the new collections. ![]() The new Physicians Formula Super CC creams were in at Rite Aid. It claims to visibly correct things such as dullness, blemishes and age spots. I am on a quest to find a perfect combination of face creams for my problem areas. I have bought a few ones recently so I hope to do a review soon. There is a $3 off coupon attached to the box. They retailed at Rite Aid for $14.95. With my 20% off Gold member status and coupon I purchased this for $8. ![]() These are my free Almay eye shadows from Rite Aid. They are liquid shadows that I have never tried yet. They were on clearance for around $2.24 each and I had a $5 off 2 manufacturing coupon so they were free. ![]() For the nailpolish portion of my haul were 2 clearance polishes and a BOGO 50% pair. I picked up a black Sally Hansen nail art pen for $2.25, a Nicole by O.P.I. In A pinker Shade of Pale For $1.99 and 2 Julie G polishes including a textured glitter one. ![]() I got these 2 Revlon lip products for 31 cents. Each were 75% off and I had 2 $2.00 off Revlon Lip Products coupon. One was a Just Bitten Lip Stain and the other a Colorburst lip gloss. ![]() I picked up a Black Radiance eyeshadow palette quartet for $2. I have heard good things about these shadows and this brand is done by Wet n Wild. Wet n Wild has great eye shadows so I am hoping these will be the same. I am excited about the products that I got today. I hope to get a CC, BB, and foundation review and a Rainbow Nailpolish Glitter review done soon. I will make sure to share anything great or not so great about any of these products.
Happy Holidays!! ![]() I picked up some great clearance items and brand new releases today. I had Up rewards to redeem at Rite Aid that were expiring so I used this as a reason to hit the drugstores beauty departments. I'm really excited about a few of my choices! In my haul were the following items: - 2 Sinful Nailpolish colors Mercury Rising and I Love You for .99 each after 50% clearance. (Rite Aid) - 2 Sally Hansen nail polish pens in white and pale pink for $1.49 each after 75% clearance.(RA) -Almay Wakeup Eyeshadow and primer in Exhilarate $2.25 after 75% clearance (RA) -Sally Hansen Nail Strips in Lust-Rous $2.50 after 75% clearance (RA) -Almay Intense I-color liquid shadow $2.25 after 75% clearance (RA) $5/2 mfc -New Cover Girl TruMagic skin perfect mattifier $13.99 but on sale for 25% off and $1 MFC (RA) -New York Color new mascara 'Big Bold Volume By The Lash' $4.99 with 30% off (RA) -New York Color new Show Time velvet eyeliner in Black Wine $2.99 with 30% off (RA) - NewYork Color Polish in Grand Central Station $1.99 with 30% off (RA) Note: This is THE best polish to use as a quick drying top coat -Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Foundation in Fair $3.50 after 75% off clearance (CVS) -Nuance by Salma Hayek perfect lips lip quad $2.50 after 75% clearance (CVS) After coupons and UP rewards at Rite Aid, my total at both stores came to $12 and change. Some things like the Sally Hansen and Almay items I'm giving away as gifts but the stuff I am keeping I am SO excited about. I will talk about them below. ![]() This exotic looking contraption is the lip quad from Salma Hayek's Nuance collection exclusive to CVS. This is the first product I have purchased from this brand. Each shade folds up and they snap together. It looks like a lotus flower opening and closing. Sometimes it's a bit tricky to get opened but once I practiced, I figured it out easily. The red and mauve to the right of it are creams, the other 2 are shimmer glosses. There is a lip brush that snaps into the middle. It is cute packaging and I love that I can carry it with me and always have a brush to reapply. The glosses all feel very soft and moisturizing on my lips. The box says it contains vitamin E conditioners and macadamia seed, jojoba seed and grape seed oils to strengthen and moisturizer. They have no smell to them which sometimes is really nice. Some other brands overpower the senses with vanilla or mint in their glosses. I want to see how long these last during my work day. Some brands I apply ten times a day or more! It would be nice to have a gloss that stays put through my day. I will test it over the next few days. ![]() I'm very excited to try this product. I have been looking for a cover girl product that I really love. I researched this and if it does what it claims then I can cross Cover Girl off my list of brands that I really want to like. This is a clear balm that says it gives instant matte. You can wear it under or over makeup. It says you can apply throughout the day like a pressed powder. I hope this gives my face a softer, more even appearance. I have acne scars and sun damage so I am always on the lookout for a product to help minimize them. I have never tried one of those 'pore minimizing products' either. I will wear this for a week to see if I notice a difference in pore size, softness and evenness in appearance. ![]() Since I tried their shimmer eye palettes recently I have been actually stopping at the Physicians Formula section in the drugstores. This shade had a 75% off sticker. Like I mentioned before, with the scar dark spots and sun damage I'm always looking for a foundation, powder, BB Cream or whatever to help even my face out. This foundation claims to be ' youth boosting' and adds 10 years instantly. On the back of the box it claims to be the 1st foundation formula ever to instantly even out skin tone and texture and to treat the visible signs of aging, restoring firmness and improving skins appearance instantly. It says to apply after concealer. I'm willing to try any product to help my skin look better. I will try for a week and see if any of these claims have merit. ![]() I usually only buy NYC's new products and limited edition collection items (with the exception of Grand Central Station Polish). This is part of the 'Round the Clock' Display at Rite Aid that I saw for the first time today. I am always willing to try a new mascara, especially one that says it multiplies lashes by 200% I picked this up in Extreme Black. There was also double ended eye pencil duo's, another mascara, single packaged eye pencils and 2 eye shadow palettes with primer. I have the old purple 'Blue Eye' palette that is VERY similar to this one so I saw no need to get this one. I also am drawn more to color than browns so that was a pass as well. The eye pencils are horrible. I bought 2 recently and they pulled at my eye and actually hurt while I applied it. I did not want to take my chances with the duo ones. Instead, I saw the velvet eyeliners which sounded soft and less 'hurty'. The back says it is formulated with vitamins C and E. I decided to give NYC's eye pencils another chance. Plus the one it picked up is called 'Black Wine'. It's a warm black with deep red glitter. Its a beautiful shade that i actually cant wait to use. I will incorporate both products into a look soon and hopefully I will still be excited about these products.
Today was a great day for getting some clearance and brand new products to try. My Up reads wee expiring so it gave me the excuse to pick up some more things to try. If you are interested in any clearance products, I would get them ASAP because they are selling out fast. Plus you never known when they will just remove the product to replace with a new one. I hope in the future to have some recommended products from this haul, especially the cover girl pick up. Thanks for reading and have a sparkling day!!!! ![]() I have the day off due to snow so I figured a snow themed manicure was in order. I used 3 coats of Sally Hansen Barracuda as a light blue base for 4 nails. The accent nail was Going Platinum by Fergie's Wet n Wild nail collection. I also used a Fergie nail color, Mountain High, on my index finger. mountain High is pastel glitter and gold flakes in a milky white base. For the white snowflake design on the accent nail I used Sinful Colors nail art polish in Bad Chick. I topped all nails with clear NYC Grand Central Station. ![]() I picked up a Sally Hansen colorfast lip pencil because they are very moisturizing and smell like chocolate! They are 75% off at CVS now. I also picked up the last Fergie CenterStage eye palette in Desertt Festival for my collection at Walgreens for 2.99 with coupon and sale. I have read many poor reviews on these but I tend to like the Fergie shadows. Some are very, very sheer and powdery but overall I enjoy making color combinations for my eyes using them. I had some Rite Aid expired Up rewards that the nice manager allowed me to use so my Rite Aid total came to less than $2.00. Fergie polish was BOGO Free so I picked up the last 2 needed for my collection: Dana and Mazel Tov Madness from the Heavy Metal winter collection. N.Y.C Color was also 30% off so I picked up a new Grand Central Station (Best top coat) and a Matte me crazy. I also saw a few new Maybelline collections at Rite Aid. They had a new color show nail collection and a Street Art collection. I picked up a Royal blue and black splatter one from the Street Art one. |
